Our Story

How it all started...

The Reed City Church of the Nazarene was established by ten charter members in August, 1922 with the desire to create a church dedicated to serving this community with compassion while sharing the life-changing story of God's grace.

Since her inception, RCnaz has gathered to worship in three different facilities in Reed City - moving into her current home in December 2006.  Each move was necessitated by a growing congregation and an expanding circle of influence into the communities surrounding Reed City.

celebrating our heritage

On August 21, 2022, RCnaz devoted on entire day to celebrating her rich history and God’s abundant faithfulness.

Where we are headed...

The history of RCnaz has been filled with reminders that God indeed directs our steps and that the future is often not quite how we imagined it, but with God's help we continue to dream!

Our current dream is that we as a congregation would...
  • so genuinely reflect the character of God, we become the first church in our community that people talk about.
  • live with such generosity, we become the first church in our community that people turn to in their need.
  • be so loving, gracious and hospitable, we become the first church in our community that those without a church family choose to participate with.
